Thanks for the "check the Transcript" tip, that confirmed that the error is the same, and it has something to do with the key changing and my Mac using some strict key checking. (My credentials are fine, GD customer support successfully logged in and used FTP commands.) I tried using sftp command from terminal, and got the same issue. I tried to connect to GoDaddy, and it actually worked the first time, but after several minutes it dropped the connection with an authentication failure, and I can't get it to reconnect.
